Course outline

“The Hypervolt & Hypersphere are cordless state-of-the-art vibration/percussion devices that can be used in both preparatory & recovery services.”

In this course, we will go over assessments to identify areas we can use either the hypervolt or the hypersphere to facilitate better movement and recovery. In a customized dynamic warm-up, Hyperice tools increase circulation and range of motion. It also upregulates the nervous system via mechanoreceptors, decreasing motor control gap and improving stability & performance. In recovery, Hyperice tools relieve muscle stiffness and soreness. It increases circulation to help with removal of metabolic waste and it improves the overall health of the body’s soft tissues.

We will also be integrating tool assisted manual release techniques by understanding more about trigger points and providing recovery services

You will learn:

  • Assessments to determine what is over/underactive
  • How to apply the tool to manage up and down regulation of the nervous system
  • Facilitating better execution of movement as well as better relaxation
  • How to apply tool assisted manual release to increase value add services

About the Instructor

Brian was certified as a personal trainer in 2013 and a graduate of the BCPTI program where he has continued to work in the fitness industry working privately and commercially. He has been involved in fitness for over 20 years as a lifter and, for a time, a competitive powerlifter and weightlifter. Formally setting Provincial and National records in his weight class, he has shifted to working holistically with his clients.

Brian is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) which allows an integrated approach to support his clients mentally, emotionally, and physically. His approach integrates the various modalities that he has learned to address any issues and help clients reach their goals by meeting them where they’re at and tailoring the experience to match. This experience lead him down the education route where he has been coaching, instructing and teaching at PTI for over 10 years eventually becoming the Director of PTI. Growing the community, assisting others to find their passion for fitness wrapped in a commitment to help others.

Often described as a jack of all trades and master of none, Brian has an interest in all types of lifting and usage of tools such as Bulgarian bags, kettlebells, Olympic weightlifting, calisthenics, and many more. He holds multiple certifications in various areas to expand and improve himself and what he has to offer others. This has led to a continued pursuit in the exploration of movement and learning turning a passion into a career.
